Fancy a Brazilian?

Men

Good things come in three, and a good thing indeed was Men of Meat 3 - Brazilian Meatival. With so much meat on so many skewers, brought to your table and carved onto your plate, us monkeys certainly went to meat heaven. All that meat for $42 per head? We think we will.

Venue:
Braza, Leichhardt

Date:
19 March 2010

Attendees:
Adam Sirloin, Aaron Wagyu, Topside Bradley, Silverside Tim, T-Bone Glenn and special guest, Porterhouse Piers.

What was ordered:

Chicken thigh
Beef rump
Pork neck (voted by most as best on night)
Lamb
Beef flank
Sausages
Beef rib
Lamb leg
Beef rump cap
Mystery meat not too salty
Chicken breast wrapped in bacon
Scotch fillet with melted blue cheese
Beef hump
Prawns (the meat of the sea)
Fish wrapped in banana leaf
Very hot yet tiny chillies
Hamoumi cheese (the meat of the dairy)
Bread balls
Polenta sticks
Fried banana
Pineapple Brazil (a tasty finish to the skewering)

Braza - vegetarians can just get fucked really.

Let the meatening begin...

Palma Louca, the beer to eat meat to.

Rib me up my good man.

Silverside Tim admires a hot skewer of meat.

They might be small, but these chillies kicked our meaty arses.

The red knobs spelt the end of our gorging.

What was drunk:
Palma Louca beer, and quite a few of them
A couple of vodka lime and sodas

The Men return

Men

The second Men of Meat has been run and won. If it was a race, it was traditionally Greek - it was a marathon. But when the platter eventually arrived, all was forgiven.

Venue:

Greek Islands Taverna, Earlwood.

Date:
24 October 2009

Attendees:

Adam Sirloin, T-Bone Glenn, Wagyu Aaron, Topside Bradley, Silverside Tim and special guests Rib Eye Ezra and Forequarter Dax.

What was ordered:
Kalamarakia - Tender marinated baby squid, pan fried to perfection
Saganaki - Sizzling kafalotyri, a delicious Greek cheese that melts in your mouth

BBQ Prawns - Our specialty char grilled prawns in a secret spicy sauce

Mixed Char Grilled Meat Platter for 4 - Souvlaki, quails, pork chops, glykadia, lamb cutlets, sausages & home made chips

And, somewhat sadly, Rib Eye ordered Elliniki Salata - Traditional Greek Salad. That's his one mistake made...

And this is what the platter looked like after the Men feasted...
What was drunk:
Mythos, carafe of house red, some soft drink
